Bedford County Percussion Full-Stock Rifle,
2009, Spring Firearms Sale, April 29th
.44 caliber, 38" octagonal barrel, buckhorn-style rear barrel sight. Forward-action percussion lock marked J.S. for (John Stoudenour) Bedford County, PA. Curly maple stock with beautiful raised carving in rear of buttstock and on the wrist, and around the front of lock, incised carved lines running parallel with barrel and ramrod channel. Brass furniture and patchbox. German silver teardrops on each side of stock. German silver escutcheon on cheek piece marked Jno Blankey 1827.

Condition:  
All metal is smooth and brown with nice soft patina. Light shine on brass patchbox and furniture. Hammer screw is a replacement. Stock has had coat of shellac applied.
