Cheyenne Beaded Hide Tobacco Bag and Redware and Blackware Pottery

Cowan's American Indian and Western Art Auction is right around the corner! Check out this fabulous Cheyenne Beaded Hide Tobacco Bag and other great pieces. 

The bag is sinew-sewn using bead colors of red white-heart, greasy yellow, pony trader blue, dark blue, pink, and white.  The hide is softly coated with yellow pigment and finished with long beaded fringe.

This unique Richard Ebelacker Santa Clara Redware Jar is another item ready to hit the block on March 26, 2010.  It is beautifully carved with an Avanyu slithering around the body and is signed on the base.

Richard Ebelacker is known for his traditional red and black Santa Clara Pueblo pottery. 

A similar piece is a Margaret Tafoya Santa Clara Blackware Plate.  It is carved with geometrics around a central disk and signed Margaret Tafoya.
