Gold Nugget Highlight of Lot 349, California Gold Rush Archive

In Cowan's upcoming Winter American History Auction, December 9, 2009, one of the featured lots is an exceptional California Gold Rush Archive that includes not only 170+ letters and documents from the Jonathan Warner Family, but also a small gold nugget presumably sent by Jonathan's brother George who had emigrated to California during the high Gold Rush year of 1852.

While the letters and documents provide a detailed description of George Warner's experiences in California and throughout the Pacific northwest, the gold nugget serves as a small, but exceptional example of why hundreds of thousands of people from across the globe journeyed to California in search of instant wealth!

To put it simply, the remarkable contents of Lot 349, the California Gold Rush Archive, are nothing short of golden!
