Jewelry to be Sold for First Time in October Auction
For the first time Cowan's will be selling fine jewelry, offering over 30 lots in the upcoming October Fine Fall and Decorative Art sale.
Diane Wachs, Director of Fine and Decorative Art, says Cowan's is responding to its consignors' questions about handling jewelry. She goes on to say, "it is an interesting market, with items valued almost as much for style as for gold or gemstone content."
Included in the 30 lots are a few stand-out pieces. One of these is an Art Deco Platinum and Diamond Necklace. Another exceptional piece is an 18k Blue Topaz and Diamond Ring. The ring is Italian and features a retro style bridge in 18k white gold set with an aqua blue topaz. Also featured is an American 14k Gold Retro Ruby and Diamond Watch. The doubled snake-link bracelet has a scalloped design with rubies and diamonds and a rectangular rose-colored watch face.
