Cincinnati Artist Louis John Endres Painting
Cowan's is pleased to offer a painting by Cincinnati native Louis John Endres in their upcoming Fall Fine and Decorative Art sale, October 2-3, 2009.
Endres (1896-1989) is known for his Orientalist style and An Arab Bride is a fine example of his work. The painting is an oil on canvas, and depicts two women sitting, facing each other. A city sits in the background. The picture is in pristine, untouched condition.
Endres studied and taught at the Cincinnati Art Academy. Later in his life he traveled to France and Africa and spent much of his time in Morocco where he drew many of his Orientalist scenes.
